As the government shutdown continues, there has been a lot going on, and that has caused many money to be cut, people to be let go, and many more. The government shutdown started on October 1, 2025, due to Congress's failure to pass a funding bill. The reason behind Congress's failure to pass a funding bill is due to disagreements over the health care policies when Trump took office. Let's start with who is getting paid during the government shutdown and who is not. The members of Congress and the president are the ones getting paid, while the federal employees are required to work without pay and would only receive their paycheck once the funding is restored. Air travel is an area that is highly affected by the current government shutdown since the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) workers and the air traffic controllers need to work without pay, and this could lead to many delays in airports, especially if they rely on the same aircraft. With the government shutdown going on, it would come with economic effects like lower economic growth and higher unemployment rates, which could lead to a higher rate of unpredictability on the investment side. The longer this shutdown lasts, the worse these effects will have on the economy.
