The Autumn season officially began on Tuesday, September 22. Autumn, also known as fall, is the season between summer and winter. During this season, the leaves on trees turn into colors of red, orange, and yellow, and the temperature gets colder as the time of day also becomes shorter. For many people, autumn is one of the most enjoyable seasons for them because of the vibes, aesthetic, and scenery.
One of the most noticeable things about the season is the colors of the leaves on trees. As the weather gets colder and summer ends, the trees change colors from green to red, orange, yellow, and brown! This is because the cooler temperatures and shorter days cause trees to stop making chlorophyll, the chemical that is responsible for the leaves’ green color. It also causes the leaves to eventually fall from the trees. This creates colorful scenery in various environments you see everyday, like parks, neighborhoods, and forests. This is a major reason why people love the fall season, because who doesn’t love to see colorful red and orange leaves as they take a stroll through their local park?
During the Fall season, the weather gets cooler and arguably most comfortable. It isn’t so hot that it’s unbearable, but it isn't so cold that you shiver every time you leave the house; it's the perfect mix. Many people are able to enjoy wearing their sweaters, jackets, and other warmer clothes. Some people say the cooler temperatures make outdoor activities more fun and enjoyable. During the summer, the temperature can get very hot. So once the temperature has gotten cooler, people can now spend time outside like playing sports, hiking, or walking through parks.
The Autumn season is very special for people because of different activities. Halloween is one of the biggest traditions in the season, where people dress up in costumes, decorate their homes, or go trick or treating. Thanksgiving is also during the Fall season, and gives families and friends a chance to spend time together. Other popular activities can be going to pumpkin patches or corn mazes. Whether you choose to pumpkin carve a jack o lantern with friends, or go prepare a big meal with family and friends during Thanksgiving, the Fall season offers many activities for anyone to enjoy.
Lastly, the Autumn season can feel like the start for students attending school (just like us!). The school year begins around the end of summer, so when students return to school they meet new people, start working towards their goals, and prepare for a new year of their academic life. The autumn season I’d say affects how students feel during school; it brings a different feeling and vibes compared to summer. The aesthetic of autumn as students head to school and see colorful trees, or the light breeze when they walk around campus, makes the overall season during school feel mellow and relaxed.
Overall, the autumn season is a season that is filled with change. The weather becomes cooler as the leaves change color, and many people take part in different traditions. Some people will enjoy watching the leaves change, others will want to wear their comfortable clothes. The Halloween and Thanksgiving celebrations will surely give everyone a happy event to celebrate with others, and the cooler weather will offer comfortable and enjoyable outside activities. So as the summer ends, the Autumn season gives us a different perspective, to view and enjoy the season around.
