Christmas 12/12

Hello readers, I will be talking about the wonderful holiday in which billions of people celebrate every year. As everyone knows, Christmas is a holiday well spent with family and friends. Here is a brief background of christmas where it first originated in Rome during December 25th in the 4th century, where it was much simpler where the Romans feasted and exchanged gifts between each other. The reason the Romans even did that was to weaken Pagan traditions.

Next I am going to be talking about the different celebrations that people celebrate all around the world during the time of christmas. For example in Italy, Christmas is not mostly focused on gifts like in the United States but food is more important in Italy than it. Another example from a different country is Spain, where most people associate Christmas with Santa Claus and him bringing Christmas gifts but in Spain it's not as traditionally tied to Christmas. In the place of Santa Claus, there are the three wise men where the gifts are given to children on the 6th of January. The story is spread around many Spanish speaking countries. Though the holiday of Christmas can differ between countries, many still celebrate it together.

Now that we talked about the different ways celebrations that people celebrate in different countries I will be talking about the activities that you can do during that jolly holiday. A very famous and popular activity to do during the Christmas time which me and my family do every year around Christmas time is to put ornaments and lights on a Christmas tree (check out another article to see more!) which would make a great family bonding time and make your home pop out. Another activity that you could do for the holidays for if you want to relax at home and just want some Christmas spirit is to watch some Christmas movies classics like the Polar Express, Elf starring Will Ferrell, Home Alone, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas; but if you want something a bit more modern here, are some recommendations: Arthur Christmas or Spirited. I hope you all enjoy these activities I recommend for you if you do do them.

Finally after all of this I will be talking about Santa Claus, the man in red himself, who is one the most famous Christmas-related things. Did you know that Santa Claus' real name is Saint Nicholas? Though Santa was able to deliver gifts all over the world it would not be possible without a certain animals help, which are the famous 9 reindeer who he owns which are Dash, Dancer, Prancer, Comet, Cupid, Vixen, Donner, Blitzen, and last but not least, the most famous reindeer with a red nose Rudolph. Though Santa is able to do this every year he is over 1000 years olds and has done this many times before and more to come. Also readers, remember to leave cookies and milk for Santa. Merry Christmas!
